What made you decide to make Sun Valley your permanent home?

I grew up coming here every summer with my family: my mother was on the ice skating rink and my dad could be found fly fishing at Silver Creek or other local secret spots :) This special valley has always been my happy place, my refuge and my home. Living in New York City for the last 14 years, the pandemic af‐ forded me the opportunity to re-think where I would live and work. I came out here to ski in January 2021 and have been 'home' ever since.

How did you originally find yoga and what keeps you coming back?

My mom and her dear friend Charles Fetter first found yoga here in Sun Valley as a cross-training activity for their figure skating and I'd tag along for classes with Richard Odum as a young pup. I became a dedicated student of yoga in 2005 when I moved to New York City and regularly worked 10 - 12 hours a day in advertising: Jivamukti Yoga Studio was midway between my home and office so I'd often stop at an evening class on the way home from work amongst fel‐ low students like Russell Simmons, Madonna, Tony Hawk and Sting. During these years, it is not an exaggeration to say that yoga changed my life: my per‐ spective on everything changed and I began to see how unbelievably lucky we are to simply have a physical body and to be alive together at this very mo‐ ment. As life has raged on, yoga has remained a constant for me: I have found the answers to so many questions right here in my own body, on my mat. Al‐ though I graduated from Jivamukti Teacher Training in 2009, I have continued to study with other teachers who resonate with me and have found tremendous solace in continuing to study this ancient tradition.

What is your main goal for your students during one of your classes?

If you come to my class, you can expect to sweat and to leave in a better place than when you arrived. Ultimately, we are doing this physical practice so that we may be of more service to the world around us - so if I help lighten your load or inspire you to do a random act of kindness after class...mission accom‐

plished!
